Here are a couple of photos of the SL70 during the course of reassembly. Since these photos were taken a month or more ago, I’ve added the handle bars and controls and started the engine for the first time. Almost everything in these photos is original to the bike, including the frame, wheels, engine and miscellaneous components. The only non-original items are the spokes, which are OEM Honda, the wiring harness, a reproduction item and the front fork tubes, which were too pitted to use so I had to find good used items. I pursued this solution as I haven’t been able to find anyone in North America to rechrome the fork tubes (hard chrome, not decorative) or provide reproduction tubes.
Currently trying to restore my dad’s sl 70 and was wondering where you got your parts from
I get parts from many different suppliers, including eBay. I’d suggest you do a ‘net search on “Honda SL70” (and different variations) and you will find sources of parts. A bit depends on what parts you’re looking for… body work and such will primarily be eBay, nuts, bolts, hardware, etc. may still be available from Honda.
Start with marblesmotors.com… Randy Marbles has a nice selection of reproduction parts and miscellaneous for the SL70.
