I’ve finally completed the utility/equipment trailer project. The included video (below) presents a walk-around review of the final product and describes some of the details and design decisions made as I built the trailer.
This was a fun and interesting – if lengthy – project and I’m quite pleased with the final result.
Do you have a parts list for the wood you used and possible dimensions?
I just bought a used HF trailer and I wanted to build something like you have .
Thank you
Steve
This trailer was constructed five years ago now and when I built it I didn’t work from a parts list or plans per se. However, I can tell you that I used 1″ x 6″ (nominal) treated decking lumber and stainless steel hardware whenever possible.
This is great and I’m currently in mid similar project. What are the brackets that slide into each other on the corners of the wall called? I have been looking at hardware stores and can’t find them.
TSC (Tractor Supply Corporation) has them, though I bought mine on-line. I don’t recall the exact name, but I’d search for “rack brackets” or similar.
I believe these are called gate latches, or similar. If I recall, I bought them online but you might check with TSC to see if they have them.
Thank you
Walmart has them for 1/2 the price of TSC. Corner stake rack connectors.

HI, I built my Utility wagon just like that a couple years ago. Instead of the bracket I just made a corner support out of 2×4, screwed and glued together. Then I screwed the side and front panels to the corner supports. Now the only problem with this is that you CAN NOT transport drywall or plywood because the walls now take up one inch of space…47×95, which of course eliminated the 48×96 drywall or plywood. Since then I have bolted onto the from an outside border of 2x4s. Problem corrected. I also had to extend the lights by 2 inches.
