Honda CB750K Reconditioning – Part 1 (1977 Model)

Honda CB750K Reconditioning Part 1

As I indicated in an earlier post, I’m now primarily focusing my attention on the Honda CB750K reconditioning project.  This is the same bike I had in the shop – and profiled – earlier in the Spring of 2013.  Originally, the owner asked me to get the front brake working which was inoperable due to the bike sitting unused for many years.  Once the owner had used the bike for the summer he returned it further work over the winter, primarily returning it to a near-stock condition and to make it reliable, safe and comfortable to ride.

Specifically, he wanted the extended forks and ape-hanger handle bars replaced with stock items as well as a a complete rebuild of the front brake system.  The brake system work I recommended after I spent time getting the system back into a working condition last spring.  The brake pads need replacing, the hydraulic hoses are getting tired and the master cylinder and caliper really require rebuilding.

These items and a few more things are now on the list… including repair of some of the wring, replacing both front and rear tires with period-correct-but-new rubber, repairing some of the switch gear, etc.

The video below is the first in this series.
